Our Past & Future

Our Story

In 1985, Travelodge became Britain’s first budget hotel brand when it launched in the UK, opening its first hotel at Barton-under-Needwood in the heart of England. For over 35 years, we’ve been there for our customers in the right place and at the right price enabling guests to stay away from home in a comfortable room for great value.

Our pioneering spirit is as true today as it has always been, and we continue to open hotels and continually improve our product, with a range of room options that suit every budget. By always putting ourselves in our customers’ shoes, we understand what’s most important to them is a consistent, clean and comfortable stay, in a location where they need to be, at a price they are prepared to pay.
